Craig Young

Craig Young

Trustee

Craig is the Chief Executive of TUANZ (the Technology Users Association) which is helping New Zealand make the most of the digitally connected world. TUANZ is an independent member-based organisation representing users of tech which educates and advocates for the uptake of digital technology and the improvement of communication services across NZ including rural and regional areas.
Craig has had a number of roles in the ICT industry over his career. At Chorus he led stakeholder and customer engagement and work in rural broadband commitments.   At TelstraClear he was involved with commercial and regulatory frameworks.
Craig is passionate about the digital technology and communications industry because of the opportunity it offers for improving business and personal lives in New Zealand.
Craig joined the Board in October 2021. He was elected Chair of the Risk Audit & Finance Committee (RAF) at the end of 2023.

Craig Young was elected Chair of the Trust at the December 2025 AGM.

Stephen McConnachie

Trustee

Stephen is an award-winning educator and researcher, with experience across all sectors of education. Stephen specialises in the strategic use of digital technology to encourage deeper learning and engagement across communities; this drives his mission to ensure that everyone has equitable access. He is a founding member of the Waitaha Digital Equity Network, Managing Director at Think e-Learning, and holds several governance roles.

Stephen is based in Ōtautahi with his wife and daughter. He joined the Board in December 2024.

Guy Alexander

Guy Alexander

Trustee

Guy has held a variety of governance and advisory board roles for different organisations.

He sees life-long learning as essential and innovation and emotional agility. Important for problem solving and constant growth. He is a  collaborator and enjoys joining the dots, whether that’s people, business ideas & problems, or how we might leave this world in a better place than when we arrived.

Guy joined the Board in October 2021.

Megan Tunks

Megan Tunks

Trustee

Megan is currently working as an Independent Research and Projects Contractor. Her  governance background is in Māori and public health, education, sport and recreation and community development. Megans professional experience includes strategic planning and advice, governance, workforce development, policy and advocacy, research and evaluation, funding and procurement. She is interested in the impact of  Emerging Disruptive Technologies (EDT) on different groups in the community, and how our work can contribute to positive wellbeing outcomes. Megan first joined the Board in October 2021, and will remain on for one more term.

Seb Bishop

Trustee

Seb has a background in Te Tiriti partnerships, community engagement, and strategic communications. He has held a number of roles in central and local government, as well as the NGO and education sectors.

Seb and partner Jo have two young children and live on Wellington’s beautiful South Coast. 

Seb bikes to work, enjoys watching cricket at the Basin Reserve, and very occasionally plays music around some of the more obscure venues in Te Whanganui-a-Tara.

Jaye Wainui

Jaye Wainui is an executive leader with a strong track record in community-led change, cross-sector partnership, and governance. They bring strengths in relationship-building and influence, connecting funders, agencies, iwi, and communities around shared priorities and practical action. Jaye’s focus is on enabling services that are culturally grounded, evidence-informed, and designed to deliver meaningful impact. Across their career, they have led large teams and portfolios, strengthened accountability and quality systems, and supported organisations to move from aspiration to consistent delivery. Jaye contributes a strategic, people-centred approach that balances ambition with rigour, helping organisations lift performance while protecting what matters most: kindness, integrity, and outcomes for communities.

Abdul Nishar

Trustee

Dr. Abdul Nishar is an outcomes-focused, process-driven leader with extensive experience in technology, digital transformation, and governance across New Zealand and Australia. He is passionate about building cohesive, high-performing teams and driving strategic change in both executive and governance roles.

Abdul brings a strong foundation in strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence. He has led initiatives in business transformation, customer experience, data security, and socially responsible outcomes for not-for-profits, SMEs, SOEs, and Crown entities. His expertise spans information technology, project governance, risk management, and Technology solutions.

Currently serving as Digital Operational Platform Manager at Downer Group, Abdul has previously held roles as IT Solution Delivery Manager and Team Leader. He is a Chartered Member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors and a Justice of the Peace, with board experience at Kootuitui ki Papakura, Middlemore Foundation, Life Education Trust, and Male Support Services Waikato.

He is committed to best-practice governance, continuous learning, and supporting organisations to achieve transformational outcomes.

Claire Amos

Trustee

Claire is the Principal at Albany Senior High School in Auckland, New Zealand. She was also one of the three foundation Deputy Principals at Hobsonville Point Secondary School. Claire has worked for a variety of schools and educational organisations in her twenty-five-year teaching career. This has included working at a number of new and established secondary schools as well as working on various national education projects. Claire was a founding member of the Education Council of Aotearoa and was a board member of NetSafeNZ. Claire is also a member of the AI Forum, Global Women NZ and co-founder of DisruptEDNZ.
