Warren is passionate about empowering communities through education and technology. With over 25 years of leadership experience spanning IT, business, and higher education, he is recognised for effectively integrating digital strategy with cultural advocacy.
Warren holds an MBA in leadership and a PhD in Strategic Management. This academic rigour ensures his contributions to education, industry, and community maintain a steadfast learner- and community-centric focus.
Warren serves in leadership and governance roles, including as chair of NetSafe Inc and Tōnui Collab, and as a ministerial representative on the Council of Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi. His practice is grounded in evidence-based research and a commitment to equitable outcomes.
Guided by the principle of rangatiratanga, Warren is devoted to making sure everyone in Aotearoa has the digital skills they need to participate fully in today’s world on their own terms.
Shona Te Huki
Kaiwhakahaere Mahi Akoranga
Programmes Operations Manager
Shona joined the organisation in 2013. When we were known as the 20/20 Communications Trust.
She began her career in the communities, coordinating and delivering the Computers in Homes programme across the Manawatū and Horowhenua regions. This role gave a deep, first hand understanding of the digital barriers whānau face.
In 2017, she stepped into the Central North Island manager role and took on national leadership of the Refugee Connect programme. Since then, her role has continued to evolve.
Currently she serves as the National Programmes Operations Manager.
Her background in Social Services remains the heart of her mahi. She driven by a passion for working alongside whānau to awhi their digital literacy confidence, and competency so they thrive in the digital world.
By collaborating with our team, communities, partners, and stakeholders, her focus is on designing and delivering operational systems and digital programmes that foster genuine wellbeing and lasting impact for individuals and whānau across Aotearoa.

Anna Phipps
Kaiwhakahaere Pūtea
Finance Manager
Anna is an experienced senior leader with a career spanning over 30 years in the charitable, membership, and healthcare sectors. In her role as Kaiwhakahaere Pūtea – Finance Manager she serves as a key member of the leadership team overseeing the Trust’s financial services while also providing critical support in human resources and policy development.
Complementing her work in the not-for-profit sector, Anna also serves as a practice manager for a medical centre in the Kapiti Coast. This role leverages her extensive background in medical administration and financial management to ensure efficient clinical operations.
Seraphim Bernus
Kaiawhina Whakahaere
Executive Assistant to CEO
Originally from France, Seraphim has called Aotearoa home since 2008 and is a proud New Zealand citizen. She joined the Katoa Connect Trust team in 2019 as Office Manager, bringing broad experience from both international corporate and public sector roles.
Seraphim now provides key support to the CEO, manages external enquiries, and serves as Secretary to the Board of Trustees. She is deeply passionate about diversity and the wisdom of all cultures, including Te Ao Māori.
Beyond her professional life, Seraphim is an avid musician.

Mahi Programmes Coordinator
Tuiara is a New Zealand born Cook Islander, who is very passionate about whanau, culture, connecting within communities, and helping our people thrive in all aspects of life.
She is a mother of seven, and a grandmother to four beautiful mokopuna. She works hard to support, teach, guide and nurture them all to grow strong into their own unique individualities. To dream big, set goals, and to always work hard for whatever it is that they aspire to be. She lives her life led by gratitude and her family is always what drives her, setting examples and paving the way for the next generations.
Tuiara joined the Katoa Connect team (formerly 20/20 Trust) in July 2021 as a Facilitator and as of February 2022 she became the Programmes Coordinator for the Central North Island. Tuiara is now the Lead Programmes Coordinator and she coordinates programmes and classes from the Waikato area in the North Island, down to Dunedin in the South.
Tuiara is very passionate about the mahi she does and is very grateful to be a part of such an inspiring team and kaupapa.
Faava Vaelaa Seleni

Faava has been part of the Trust since 2016, beginning as a Facilitator before moving into Programme Support in 2020 and joining the team as a Programme Coordinator in 2022. A proud Samoan woman, Faava has a strong passion for serving her community and is deeply committed to advancing digital inclusion across Aotearoa. Faava works with communities across Auckland and the South Island, including Timaru, Oamaru, and Dunedin. Her greatest motivation comes from her three boys.

Malik joined Katoa Connect Trust in March 2023 and has since progressed into the role of Projects Coordinator. She thrives in environments grounded in strong processes and structure, and brings a creative lens to her mahi through content creation, marketing, and storytelling.
With a passion for uplifting and prioritising the professional profiles of our Māori and Pasifika communities, Malik plays a key role in advancing digital inclusion across the organisation. She is deeply committed to ongoing professional development, continuously growing her kete mātauranga to strengthen both her individual performance and her contribution to the wider team.

Nanar Tan
Kairuruku Otinga Matihiko
Digital Solutions & Support Coordinator
Nanar joined the Trust in 2022 and has a background in instructional design, media, information systems, business computing, and tertiary teaching. She brings to the Trust a vast knowledge of learning management and client management systems as well as web design and development.
Nanar is best described as an honest, reliable and friendly part of our team and she takes on challenges and turns them into opportunities. Her previous experience and knowledge with working with learners continues to add value to the Trust.
To add to her list of skills Nanar is also fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
